Programs - Summer
River Valley Waldorf School offers three exciting camps this summer during the weeks of July 11th and July 18th, 2011!
For children aged 3-6 years
This camp is led by Melanie Niemczura, one of River Valley’s wonderful kindergarten teachers. Each week will feature water play, baking, crafts, puppet stories...lots of fun and creativity consistent with the principles of Waldorf Education. Always a hit with parents and children, this camp is offered for two one-week sessions.
Camp hours are 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday with optional extended day until 3:30 pm.
Cost is $225 per week plus $75 for extended day.
Led by the amazing and versatile team of educator Ona O’Hara and parent Cyndi Shain, this camp harkens back to an earlier, simpler time. Campers will be in the woods, on the soccer field, and in the outdoor kitchen: wood working, playing, singing, solar cooking, and crafting. There will be lots of time to explore, create, relax, have fun, and so much more! This camp is offered for two one-week sessions.
Camp hours are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Cost is $325 per week.
The dynamic, locally-renowned River Union Stage Theatre Company counselors will lead a series of daily sessions on the basics of theater including; acting, improvisation games, vocal exercises, and movement for the stage. Applying what is learned in the sessions, the students will develop and produce a performance using adaptations of Lenape folklore and stories as material for a public presentation serving as the capstone experience of the summer camp. This is an amazing opportunity for our local kids and it is sure to fill as soon as the word gets out!
Camp hours are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
This is a two-week camp. Cost is $650 for the two weeks.
